Box Seating and Planters

Box Seating and Planters are an attractive and useful enhancement to any canopy scheme, but they come into their own when they provide ballast to the structure as an alternative to below ground foundations.

If you would like to install a canopy in a location where it is not possible to dig the below ground foundations that are needed to safely anchor a tensile fabric canopy, we can specify above ground ballast which will be rated for UK weather conditions. The ballast will then be clad to provide seating or planters, whichever best suits your site. Different styles of wooden or stainless-steel cladding can be specified to achieve a finish that compliments the architecture of your site and gives you a aesthetically pleasing result.

The images on this page show canopies with above ground ballast that Aura have installed on roof terraces, where below ground foundations are not possible and, in the case of The Ship and Trades at Chatham historic dockyard, where it is not permitted to excavate on a historic site.
