Aura has been providing a range of tensile fabric structures for over fifteen years and we have 20 years experience installing these structures for customers UK wide. Our pride in our work means that we want every aspect of your decision to install Aura canopies to go beyond your expectation. So far, more than 800 schools, 200 hospitality installations and numerous bespoke projects later, we have kept to our promise, and with more than half of our business coming through recommendations the facts speak for themselves.

Aura was started by John Santy who combined his love of sailing with his engineering expertise.

“Anyone who loves sailing will probably agree with me that you get a real buzz when you create the shape in the sails that captures the wind ‘just right’ making the boat sing.

John’s fascination with the performance you can achieve when a flat roll of fabric is used to create precisely engineered shapes led him to tensile fabric architecture (via America’s cup sail making!).

Aura’s mission is to provide a range of ‘off the shelf’ designs that offer a cost effective solution for shade and shelter canopy requirements, while continuing to pursue innovative applications for fabric in architecture.
